Description

The Batavia Cemetery opened in 1823, making it almost 200 years old. It contains over 8,000 graves and became part of the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. The first graves were some of the city's earliest settlers, so the cemetery is steeped in rich local history. Overall it is a smaller cemetery measuring in at barely 8 acres.
