Description

Albany Rural Cemetery (ARC) was incorporated over 150 years ago in 1841. With more than 135,000 people laid to rest on a stunning 467 acres situated with stately monuments and a parklike setting, it has earned its spot on the National Register of Historic Places for good reason. With such a rich history, in the Victorian era, hundreds toured its grounds by horse-drawn carriage each weekend to honor the deceased. The ARC went as far as to sell annual subscription books. A breathtaking cemetery with hundreds of acres.
